I will admit this one had to be done in chunks. First, the layout (many variations), second, inking the figures (why do I keep putting so many into one frame??), and then the color (love to color Trugg strips though…). Yes, it took a while, but seeing it posted is satisfying. Even I don’t know how this contest will turn out, I just froze the moment in time…
I was trying for a spotlight effect, with the light shining down on the action. This was kind of hard to color because I wanted to keep the background colors rich but not overpower the foreground figures. I appreciate the nice words!
I think we all know how this is going to end…
I’m just glad I don’t have to draw it!
There’s no such thing as too many monsters! Great strip, Mark!
Haha, I agree Marieke, we can’t have too many of those! Thanks so much!
Gorr would totally take him on. That is all.
It’s nice to know you have such faith in Gorr, Sareen! I think you may be right!
That Gorr has some huge intestinal fortitude!
Just don’t try to take his bone!
I’m putting my life savings on Gor! 😀
Haha, I’m sure Gorr would appreciate your faith in his abilities, Saeed!
I’ve got twenty bucks on Gorr…
You’re on!
I’m betting on the little guy!
You mean the underdog? Haha, thanks J.P.!
Gorr and Goliath! 🙂
Well put, Daniel! I’m sure there’s a lesson to be learned here, but I’m having too much fun watching the competition!
I’m hedging my bets on a Gorr WIN!! You go Gorr! [grin]
I imagine Gorr’s got a pile of bones and some chew toys wagered on this one!
I’d like to think they’re all cheering for Gorr.
Ha, yea I kind of want to think that too, Justin.
I’m putting my money on Gorr…
I want to think that Trugg is not holding back.
Sweet! What an epic demon battle. This is pure awesome.
Thanks CC! I had fun with this one, especially in the color.
There ya go again drawing soooo many characters in one strip. Must have take you HOURS to draw and colour this one! :`D
Gee! I wonder who will win this particular tug-o-gorr!? ;`)

My money is on Gorr too. I would imagine it is tough for the big guy to get a solid grip on something so small
Like tugging on a toothpick!
If the demon wins, he better throw it. These are the rules.
I like those rules, Tyler. That game could go on for hours!
I think the Truggz need to let Gorr win… it never pays to tick off your master!
I wouldn’t recommend it!
I guess Gorr thinks size doesn’t matter.
Probably never occurred to him, Dave, lol.
If that monster is smart, he’ll let Gorr win the bone… cause either way, Gorr will probably pee on it.
It’s gonna be Gorr’s bone eventually, right? Haha. Thanks Betsy for coming by and commenting! And thanks for all your support on Twitter!
Gorr has better leverage from where he’s at.
You mean as in being the King sort of leverage or just the regular leverage?
Gorr’s got a lot of pull for his size!
The shading on the Trugg makes it stand out nicey.

Well your technique worked very well because that’s what it looked like.
Thanks Peter. I’m really happy you noticed, makes the effort worth it!
Not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight within the dog.
Amen, Jack! I think this one takes it to a whole other level, though…
Oh, Gorr is gonna win for sure. No question.
Thanks for your great faith in the little demon dog, Josh!
Gorr’s just lulling him into a false sense of confidence. This match wouldn’t last longer than a second if Gorr was trying 😉
Brandon, that’s a great comment. It’s nice to know Gorr’s got some many supporters on his side of the arena!
Haha I love it! I laughed out loud at the butt wiggles.
Thanks Josh. I had fun drawing the proportions in this one.
Gorr’s the Man! ( ? )
Let’s just say if anybody were wearing the pants, it’d be him!
Stunning work, as usual! And how cute is Gorr? SQUEAL!
Aww, thank you Jenn! That means a lot coming from the queen of cute characters!
I don’t thing the Trugg stands a chance.
I’m sure he’d be happy to hear that, Tony! He has to keep up the pretense of struggling just so the Trugg doesn’t feel bad…
I do the same with Dixie. She’s only lightweight so isn’t good at tug o war due to lack of pulling power so I let her win so she feels good
She has pulling power alright, only it’s on your heartstrings, Tony!
The real contest seems to be “how long will it take to the bone to break ?” ‘Cause neither Gorr nor the Trugg are willing to give up…
True that! And neither one is holding back!
