Some houses gave the good stuff – peanut butter cups, candy bars, chocolate, etc. and others would give that low grade generic hard candy, and candy corn. You’d prioritize each year and hit the good houses first and early to beat the crowd. The earlier you got there, the more they were doling out.
We do the fun sized, we go through about 8 bags of candy and thats with us giving out one piece per kid. However, with a big snowstorm on the way, I’m hoping the trick mother nature is playing on us all will leave me able to eat all the treats myself! [smirk]
I’d much rather have kids at my door than a blizzard! One piece per kid x eight bags…that’s a LOT of kids! Are you sure you aren’t dipping into the bags between Trick or Treaters, Jynksie?
we dont have halloween here,
we have sint maarten(saint martin)
11th of november kids go around doors with a home made lantern and sing on your doorstep for candy
I’m about 4 weeks ahead. My Halloween strips were finished by the end of September, and the first week of October. Honestly, I’d prefer to always keep at least 3 weeks ahead. I dread the thought of having to crank out a strip the night before it’s due to post (no offense to those who do, though).
Blow Pops, Flavored Tootsie Rolls and Snickers no doubt… that is a score! I remember hitting a few houses like that when I was a kid.

When I was a kid we got about 150 kids at our house. Place I live now we only get about 60 so it is full sized candy bars over here.
Let’s all head to Bearman’s for Halloween! None of those mini-candies at his house!

I hope you’re prepared for a full scale Wombie invasion this year!
Wombies will take care of that candy stash in no time! Bring it on!
daaaang where was this house when i was kid?
I’m right there with you, Bob. You know where we’d be hanging every Halloween!

So a giant candy funnel will work there, too!
indeed but i think a tuba shooting candy would be more apropriate 😀
Haha Bob, I’d love to see that!
I’m going to this house every year!
You might grab enough candy to last half a year!
Me too!
That’s a lot of candy 🙂
Ain’t it though! I can see those future dental bills piling up already.
I think they need bigger bags!
I think you may be right!
Who is that guy, Dr. Diabetes!?
Lol, I bet there’s not one sugar free candy in that whole pile!
That settles it, I’m going to the Wurmhol house for Halloween too.
Let’s all meet in front of the Wurmhols next year!
Love the colors! I also love the generosity mixed with diabolic!
Thanks, MC. Glad you like it.
First the bird gets nothing, then he gets crushed by candy. I’m starting to worry what’s in store for him next 🙂
I guess it just goes to show, always be careful what you wish for!
Maybe that guy is a dentist & he’s trying to drum up more business
With a pile of candy that high, business is good!
The Wurmhol house is the place to be! Right after Bearman’s!
Drop Bearman’s king-sized bar in your bag first and then fill up the rest at the Wurmhols!
Best house ever for candy!
Dang, I wish it wasn’t only in a comic strip!
Whoa whoa whoa!!! Totally just realized THIS strip… Has been your header image for WEEKs!!! You’re like some kind of genius. Way to be a badass Mark!
I blame it on my buffer. It gives me too much time to plan ahead, lol.
I didn’t even notice that! Nice one!
I wanted to make a custom banner but I was too lazy to start from scratch so I used what I had. I did that last month too with the curse header.
Lol. How do you not eat away at your buffer? You’re like 4 months ahead right? Did you have that before you started out?

If there are circus peanuts mixed into those treats I’m going to be upset. Nothing worse than a circus peanut.
Circus peanuts are the misfits in the candy food chain. Just one step below candy corn.
I’ve always considered candy corn to be an insult. Anything else is just icing on a cake. Yum! 😀
I guess candy corn is like plankton in the candy hierarchy.
Hmm..I remember those houses that would give out coins for my UNICEF box. Those were annoying! But I suppose this situation would be worse…
The least they could do is mix some chocolate bars with the coins!
Haha! I must have the address!
That would be a popular house on my block. Love the 1st and last panel.
Thanks, Frank! That’s my little witch girl, Clautria Wurmhol’s house btw.
actually all of the panels are really great.
