Ultra Bubble on August 22, 2012 Chapter: Comic More summer fun. Can you tell me what inspired the pose in panel two?
Iwo Jima! 🙂
Good catch, Carlo! I just had to use that pose, it fit so perfectly!
It’s raining signatures! Seriously though, wonderful art.
Thanks, Michael. This time I had to draw all the characters in three different frames! It’s more work, but I had fun with it.
Bubble fun for everyone.
One bubble is never enough!
I’ve always loved giant bubbles! They are so ethereal, almost magical. Looks like so much fun.
Nothing says magic like a giant bubble!
The backyard marines have landed for a bubble raising pose.
A few good kids.
Raising of the flag at Iwo Jima! I win! 😉
Water balloon fights may be over but the summer fun continues…
At least they’re still getting wet, and that’s important for a hot summer!
I love how the plane was like “woah! that’s a bubble!”
Emanata is a cartoonist’s best friend!
A John Wayne movie, perhaps?
You got it, Davo!
They didn’t take down the plane, did they?
I bet the pilot was circling back around to get a better look but it popped too fast.
ahhhhhhhh it’s in my eyes!!
Haha, probably behind your ears too, Bearman!
I’m gonna miss it when summer is over.
Never lasts long enough, does it?
Thats not another Real Estate bubble is it?!? [eeek]
If it is, RUN for your life!
I like the skull pool 🙂
Thanks, Julian. It’s the only one in the neighborhood.
I like when all the characters are together in one big frame.
It’s more work, but it’s fun to see them all together occasionally.
I hope the city isn’t attacked by a giant Lawrence Welk! Great extra large comic, Mark!
A Welkzilla attack would be “wunnerful”! Thanks, Tim, glad you liked it!
Close your mouth, kids! That soap is nasteh!
Since when did kids worry about dirt?
That’d be one way to get kids to use soap!
A city wide bath!
Everyone should love bubbles. Especially the worlds biggest one.
I’d love to see an actual bubble that big. Wouldn’t that be something?
What Tom Falco said. Something about this reminds me of Peanuts. Your artwork is really something to behold!
I’m really honored you like my work, Lonnie. From you that is a major compliment!
Your summer fun series has been awesome! Really brings back the feelings go childhood!
I’m glad you like the summer strips, Warren. I got the same feeling when I read your BrOlympics series!
This is exactly the kind of summer fun I wish I was having right now. Ah, those were the days.
Nothing beats cool water games in the heat of summer!
Ha ha! This one was lots of fun, Mark! Well done!
Summer is winding down, but I’m trying to squeeze as much fun in there as possible! Glad you liked it, Jerry!
And a new World record! That is one large bubble and a way to cool off the city at the same time!
That might be the only way to get some people to take a bath!
Great, fun strip.
Happy you like it, Frank!
My Favorite part is that the pilot of the plane was even surprised.
You can just imagine what he must have been thinking seeing that bubble floating over the neighborhood!
Lucky that lane had enough altitude or it may have gotten encapsulated.
Errr… Plane not lane…
“We have begun our descent, the current weather is clear and sunny, and we will be in the gate in about fifteen minutes. We’d like the flight attendants to.. Good Gosh that’s the biggest bubble I have ever seen, can you folks see that?”
