Dead Trees, Dead Boy. Zombie Boy Now in Kingwood Monthly!
on September 12, 2013
I’m pleased to announce that Zombie Boy is now being published in Kingwood Monthly, a Houston, Texas community newspaper. Leroy Brown, the creator of Icecubes, has put together a full-color comics section, Happy Comics, which prints my strip along with David Wilborn Urban Jungle, Michael Hawkins The Amaizing Jim Corn, and Lonnie Easterling Spud Comics. I’m so proud to be published amongst such a talented group of cartoonists!
That’s awesome, Mark! Congrats! 🙂
Thanks so much, Tim. It feels good to be in print again.

I really appreciate that, Don! This is the first time the Zombie Boy comic strip has been in print anywhere!
That’s great news Mark!
Thanks so much, Jeff! There’s nothing like seeing your work in process color on newsprint!
Wow, congrats Mark! It’s always cool to see your work in print. Looks amazing! 🙂
Thanks, Chris! Nothing beats seeing your scribbles printed in color!
Mark, that’s fantastic! Congratulations!!!
And right above Urban Jungle. It’s like I’m looking at the print version of my RSS Feed! 😀
At least your RSS won’t rub off on your fingers, lol! Thanks so much, Bill!
Congratulations! That is really awesome!
Appreciate it, George!
This is BIG news, Mark! I’m very pleased to see this! Congratulations!
Thanks, Davo! It’s nice to be in print again!
Congrats, Mark! Awesome even doesn’t begin to describe it!
And the ink rubs off on my fingers! What a thrill! Thanks so much for the encouragement, Wouter!
Wow! Super Congratulations Mark! Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy!
I’ve said it before, when you get published you get ink in your veins and you’ll Jones to see more of your work published. It’s inevitable. I really appreciate your nice comments, Chris!
Awesome Mark. I guess rigor mortis has it’s down side. I’ll remember this comic next time my arthritis is acting up & keep in mind that there are plenty of dead people who are a lot worse off.
I complained because I had no shoes, until I met a boy who had no soul. Thanks, Tony!
Very cool. I have been following so many for years
And I do appreciate you, Bearman! Thanks for that and for your unwavering support!
Congrats, Mark! The strip looks great in print.
I appreciate that, Jeff! Nothing else in the world looks like newspaper printing!
WOW! Fantastic news, Mark! Well deserved and a BIG CONGRATS to you! I live near Houston and know the Kingwood area. Next time I swing by I’ll make sure to grab a copy of the Kingwood Monthly!
Another great thing, you already have strips for them to last ages!
Be sure to grab a copy of the next issue, Joseph! With my archive, if they publish one of my strips a month, my last strip would run in their August, 2058 edition!
That’s great, Mark. Congratulations!
Thanks, Peter! It means a lot coming from you!
Thanks for posting a picture of the comics page! Nothing beats comics in print 🙂 So glad we can make this happen.
I have only you to blame, my friend! Thanks so much for letting me be a part of print again, and especially newspaper print! The thrill of seeing those little dots can’t be beat!
🙂
This is great news! Congratulations in your first step to world domination! 🙂
Thanks so much, Cone! I appreciate the words of encouragement!
Wow, impressive and congratulations. This is really cool!
Thanks so much, Jack! I really respect print, and no matter how much I appreciate digital, print is always king! I see from your aww-some website, Daily Mobster, you know exactly what I’m talking about! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
Oh man I agree, I wish I could print actual newspapers! That would be brilliant.
It’s fun when the ink smudges off on your fingers, too!
