Yeah. You are so right! The only saving grace about blackbirds is that they are really mostly sillhouettes, but still I’ve drawn enough for quite awhile!
ok, the first one i can come up with might be a bit sad, too: art is some kind of shock stripping life of all the pretty lies – since this might make art seem a bit fundamentalist. it should be possible, though, to make this a happy thing: art transforming realities fancy (but dead) clothes into something live and free again.
Wow. That’s about the deepest comment I’ve ever had on this site. Thanks so much! And here I thought it was just a cute cartoon. Really gives me something to think about!
My dog sneezes a lot, and violently too. Poor little guy can barely breath as it is, so I guess when he sneezes it HAS to be big. Pugs have it pretty bad during allergy season.
I know someone who has the loudest, most violent sneeze. It’s like a force of nature. It’s so loud, it startles people. I’m glad you like the strip, Josh.
My pug’s tail loses some of its curl when he sneezes. You know us cartoonists like to take it to the next level. But either end it came out of the effect is the same, lol!
Ha! They were birds.
I was originally going to use blackbirds, but I wanted to add some color, so I saved it for the fall.
I’m sure you’ve had enough drawing blackbirds for one year, too. LOL.

I think I’m reading this as a reflection on art – quite a bit of fun! The possibilities of interpretation seem endless
That’s interesting. I’d honestly like to hear one of your interpretations. I find it a bit sad myself…

artisticlyish 😀 i like it
Hey, that’s a new word! I’m going to have to start using that one! I’m happy you like it, Bob!
Ahhh so this is the one you mentioned a while ago. I really like that it’s birds not leaves. Very clever twist Mark.
Yes, Becky. You were the only one in the Universe besides me to know about this one. I’m glad you like it!
I really like this one! I love the artistry and idea behind it. Bravo!
Thanks Sareen! It makes me happy that you like it.
Mark, another classic. Thanks for starting my week off with a smile.
I’m glad I could make you smile, J.P.! Your characters always make me laugh!
Gesundheit! 🙂
Got any tissue?
One sneeze, and every bird… leaves! 🙂
Leaf birds, leaf birds, fly away home!
Bless you, Gorr:)

Speaking of interpretation …I could see this as a symbolic way in segwaying the “changing of the seasons”. [grin]
You know Jynksie, that’s an awesome interpretation. I honestly didn’t see that when I drew it, but now that you mention it, I really do.
Ha! Great material!
Thanks MJ!
Lol, that was a lot of birds. That tree was a cat’s dreamland.
It was like the bird equivalent of a teen idol appearance at a shopping mall.
LOL! Behold the power of the sneeze!
A sneeze for the eons!
which end did he sneeze out of?!?
Heh heh.
Make sure you keep Gorr away from my veggie garden. I want the tomatoes to stay on the plants till they’re ripe.
Haha, ok Tony! I’ll send him over when they’re ripe to scare them off the vine.
I need that dog for right before I rake.
Who needs a leaf blower with Gorr around?
Nice. Love the colors!
Thanks Thomas. Coming from a great colorist like you makes it extra nice to hear.
Awesome! Reminds me of some of the trees in my neighborhood. It’s like Hitchcock around here.
I never knew so many birds could be in one tree, but it IS possible! I’ve seen trees filled with blackbirds that look just like my drawing.
Well at least you don’t have to rake them!
Really like the colours in this one.
Thanks Binky. I was experimenting a bit with the shadow colors in this one.
I’m glad there’s no small-o-vision in comic strips. 😀 That was hilarious!
Glad you enjoyed it George!
Gosh… the birds ate all the leaves? 🙂
Not exactly, Dr. X, lol.
The colors are great Mark!
Thanks Brian. It’s a shame that autumn colors don’t last very long. Guess that’s part of the beauty.
Geez.. If these guys get scared by sneezes this time of year, they’re not gonna be in one place for too long!
Birds are naturally jumpy and nervous. Anything can set them off, especially when they are in a group. I’m glad I’m not a bird.
My dad has this same effect on children when he sneezes. Great gag.
I know someone who has the loudest, most violent sneeze. It’s like a force of nature. It’s so loud, it startles people. I’m glad you like the strip, Josh.
Those must be chameleon birds.
Yes, those are the elusive Chameleon Birds, native to South New Guinea, making their very first comic strip appearance.
Man oh man do I love this strip!
That makes me happy to hear. To me the best ones don’t have words.
Nice job on the tree! Love the colors on the birds.
I was going to use blackbirds for a more graphic effect, but I felt color would liven it up. Thanks for your kind comments, Hjortur!
Judging from Gorr’s tail, did he fart as well?!
My pug’s tail loses some of its curl when he sneezes. You know us cartoonists like to take it to the next level. But either end it came out of the effect is the same, lol!
